Edward Cullen

I present to you: Edward Cullen.

MTV films, (the studio with the current rights to the screen adaptation of Twilight) has officially cast Bright Eyes in his debut film role as Edward Cullen. Set to release Christmas time 2009, Twilight should draw a massive crowd following the success of Stephanie Meyer's books about the eternal teen vampire and the object of his desires; Bella Swan, who along with the rest of the cast, has yet to be named.

MTV films is rumored to be considering Katie Holmes for the role of Bella but they aren't confirming that right now.

I am not ashamed of liking these books at all. They're great stories and very well written. I'm excited for the movie(s) to come out and I hope MTV doesn't screw this up the way they did music videos. They were doing so well in the 80's you know? I also have to say that at first I was a little stunned that they cast Bright Eyes of all people to play Edward Cullen but now the idea has grown on me. I think this picture really makes him look like Edward.

Ha ha, you like books for girls.

Alright, I've never read them, but from what I know, all the girls read them, and my bro-in-law, but he's just like that, so he doesn't really count, and now you.

Awh man. if i would have known that Conor Oberst was originally supposed to be Edward i wouldnt have been so excited when i figured out it's going to be Robert Pattinson. Conor's 100 times better.

dude, this guy so is not Edward! No offense to this guy, but Edward is supposed to be gorgeous. and he has aburn hair. this guy looks like a geek/nerd trying to look dark and mysterious but instead he looks like a wannabe emo.
Now I woouldn't say Robert patterson is the best choice either, i've seen much better people to play him, but hes better than this guy. sorry man, but you just are not the spesimen of of physical perfection and heart throb Edward is as portrayed by the book.

Yeah, they're great books, I love Bright Eyes, and the movie preview looks great, but Katie Holmes? If she was even one of the choices the movie would have been horrible.. And Conor Oberst... Completely false.. The only Edward-like thing he has going for him is the pale skin and musicianship.

Thank god they've picked Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. I think they're great.

To Grace of Darkness....he is not or trying to be emo. You obviously dont know him. He would have been great, the way he talks and moves, but his body isn't the best for Edward.
